The Softail was modified with a single goal in mind, that of creating “a compact, lively motorcycle with a stocky build.” Whether the shop succeeded in this task or not is up for you to judge, but to us, the result looks simply delightful.
Propped on Rick’s Motorcycles wheels (18 inches, 3-piece bolted rims), the bike rides closer to the ground thanks to lowered front and rear suspension. The engine that spins said wheels is still the stock one, but rocks aftermarket parts, including air filter, timing cover, clutch cover, and levers. Most importantly, the thing’s breathing and growling capacity has been increased with the inclusion of a Vance & Hines Big Radius exhaust system.
The lights on Softail have changed as well – they now come as a small LED lamp up front, and the same type of solution was chosen for the rear. Other nice touches are the relocation of the rear brake disc, but above all, the choice of paint, which in this case is a combination between airbrushed gloss and matt black.
The Chimera is still listed on Nine Hills’ website, despite it having been made a while back. No mention is made about how much the bike cost to put together.
