But that’s not all. Moving from one extreme to the other, the Rolls-Royce subsidiary has also revealed its intentions for the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition’s primetime.
Naturally, it’s something much bigger than a MINI Aceman – Rolls-Royce has shared the first glimpse of its ‘Spirit of Expression’ Bespoke commissions (Ghost and Phantom Extended plus a Spectre EV), which are a global creative partnership between the Goodwood-based designers and the Private Office Shanghai Bespoke.
Rolls-Royce, just like many other carmakers, is deeply committed to China as one of its main markets – and these models are also a tribute to the country’s richest clients and their global tourist destinations.
More precisely, “each exterior color captures a fleeting moment in time from a number of remarkable destinations around the world frequented by clients from the Greater China region.” These include the vividly blooming Lantana flower in South America, the “stunning” sands of Sicily’s Cala Luna beach, as well as Boracay Island’s sunsets in the Western Visayas in the Philippines. Meanwhile, the interior is inspired by the “power of stars” and features a recurring motif inspired by the night skies of the aforementioned locations.
Each commission also has its own name – the Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended is called ‘Magnetism’ thanks to the two-tone Cala Luna Sand and Kabira Blue exterior coachwork complimented by a technicolor Starlight Headliner consisting of 768 Galileo Blue and 576 White’ stars’ along with eight ‘shooting stars.’
On the outside, there’s also a hand-painted double coachline in Arctic White and Cala Luna Sand.
Secondly, the Ghost Extended ‘Expressionism’ is dressed in Boracay Blue and features a solo hand-painted Lime Green coachline plus semi-polished 21-inch alloy wheels with Orbit Grey centers and Lime Green pinstripes that are shod in White pinstripe tires.
Black and Arctic White leather with Lime Green accents is mixed inside, while the headliner has 520 Lime Green and 520 White ‘stars’ plus eight white ‘shooting stars.’
Last but not least, the all-electric Rolls-Royce Spectre ‘Escapism’ was finished in dual-tone Lantana Red with a Tempest Grey coachline and upper section. There are also 23-inch seven-spoke alloy wheels with Lantana Red centers and a “softly illuminated Spirit of Ecstasy figurine.” The cockpit was redressed in Selby Grey, Purple Silk, and Sunset leathers, plus the headliner includes 960 fiber-optic Sunset ‘stars’ complimented by another 192 fiber-optic lights to make up the additional eight white ‘shooting stars.’ Cool, right?
